In Building from the Block Up we activate our team learning through social action Projects. These are the outgrowth of the community campaigns and study circles, and as such are well designed with the aid of building facilitators, community leaders, and support from our broad resource network . Projects are collective community enterprises spearheaded by the youth team. Each neighborhood building team develops the transferable skills involved in project management within community development. Every project seeks to measurably raise the perceived quality of life in a neighborhood or schoolwhile promoting the efficacy of service-learning and collective enterprise in community development. While designed to be sustainable, the projects will officially last two weeks with the building experience documented through art, media, and a culminating neighborhood block party. Team members will be compensated at satisfactory completion of the project.

BUILDING FROM THE BLOCK UP START UP FUND
We are offering an evidence-based, theory driven, spiritually aligned, community supported, meaningful service-learning, youth empowerment program FREE to any neighborhood in the Lowcountry!! Does that sound too good to be true?
Well we do too! Our organization is currently 100% volunteer driven and leverages an extensive network of servant-leaders from all over the country. While we are committed and determined to offer this Building Process for FREE to every neighborhood who would like to participate, how we are going to maintain a high quality of service and incentives for youth team members to participate, presents an opportunity for the greater circle of community builders to arise and serve.
As a strategic goal, Building from the Block Up will become a self-sustaining through our 'social enterprises' aka businesses to support our service. While in pursuit of that goal we are going to need some assistance in start up funding and assets.
